The storm is still behaving as planned and its track northward is still plotted to track right up our gut. Details of the storm remain the same with some natural variability in how fast precipitation changes from snow to sleet to freezing rain to rain. Even though what will be on the ground on Monday Morning won't be much it does not mean this is not a significant event.
A LOOK AT THE STORM NOW

REVIEW OF THE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS
Snow may roll in a little early, perhaps around 2.
NOTE 1
Conditions will get bad fast. As the storm rolls in around 3 PM or so, snow will come in hard and fast easily coating and accumulating on the roads.
NOTE 2
The changeover to sleet then freezing rain should happen sometime between 7 and 9 PM for most regions. This does not mean the roads and conditions will get better. They may even get worse until temperatures rise above freezing by 10 PM - 12 AM for most regions.
Note 3
This is as much a snow event as it is a freezing rain event. I expect up to a quarter inch of freezing rain accumulating on trees, power lines, and roads.
Note 4
On top of all this we will have gusty winds throughout the night making conditions even worse and priming conditions for trees to fall.
Note 5
Temperatures will rise above freezing and most road and tree impacts will be melted by morning time. There is a chance for a quick burst of snow Monday morning, but not too impactful.
SNOW MAPS
Here there are two snow maps with distinct differences. The first map outlines how much snow will fall on Sunday. The second map outlines how much snow will be on the ground on Monday morning after rain melt. You can see the snow totals retreat north and west when comparing the two maps. Scroll through.
I wanted to make two maps to emphasize that there really will be a decent amount of snow falling today throughout the afternoon and it will be dangerous. However, after tonight and some melting due to rain, there will be less snow on the ground on Monday Morning.
I am making a separate post for updates throughout the storm. Please check that out.
