THEME OF THE DAY
Moderate Snow Showers have made their presence known in the Baltimore metro region along with southern portions of Carroll County late last night and early this morning. None of this snow had fallen in northern portions of Carroll County and has even skipped or passed over other portions of the region where surrounding areas exhibited snow.
Radar from 1 AM to 9:30 AM - Does not depict between snow and rain - This is all snow

The snow this morning was spotty across the area. Where it did snow, it was moderate and did cause travel concerns! HOWEVER, the energy that sparked up those snow rates has passed and I expect only light snow showers and flurries until afternoon when snow becomes widespread.
This is the theme of the morning and midday - Spotty snow showers will drop a brief period of snow in some areas and not others. With cold roads, this could cause minor issues during that brief period as snow will lay easily. This will be the case until later this afternoon when the storm organizes and snow becomes widespread. I will keep updating on exactly when widespread snow will in.
With that said, it is up to your judgement on whether you should travel this morning or day.
The most snow you would encounter would be a light dusting around the region during the morning and midday hours. Again this would be spotty.
Do you feel comfortable driving when it is snowing?
Do you feel comfortable driving over a coating of snow?
The minor threat is there for it to get slippery from the morning into the day, just be cautious. I would operate as normal, but just wary of the fact that a snow shower could move in.
I will post here updating on the snow showers and I will post on my instagram, @inglis_weather
STORM UPDATE
The storm does seem to be moving in a little earlier and exiting slightly earlier
The Original Timeline

TUESDAY
Morning/Midday - Steady snow persists until mid afternoon
New Timeline
MONDAY
Morning/Midday - Off and On Light Snow showers
Mid Afternon/Sunset - Snow becomes more consistent and steady
TUESDAY
Morning/Midday - Steady snow persists until late morning
IMPACTS
Isolated areas and roads will be briefly covered throughout the day with a light dusting. Roads will then become covered widespread from Monday Evening into Tuesday Morning. With below freezing temperatures, and preexisting cold pavement temperatures; snow will stick and accumulate on roads, even with light snow rates, especially overnight. With temperatures in the mid 20s throughout the event, road treatments wont be as effective.
PEAK STORM IMPACTS - 7 PM Monday to 7 AM Tuesday
Be increasingly cautious as the day progresses on Monday. Snow showers will be present and steady snow could move in earlier than expected. I will keep you updated as best I can.
Especially limit travel after sundown on Monday Evening through Tuesday Morning.
ACCUMULATIONS
It will snow for a significant amount of time from Monday into Tuesday. Most of these snowy hours will include light snow with rates less than a quarter of snow per hour. This will limit any significant snow accumulations. There will be a widespread blanket of 1-3 inches of snow across the region with some "lucky" areas exceeding 3 inches in the heavier more steady pockets of snow and snow showers.
